The IUCN Caribbean Regional Committee (CRC) coordinates and empowers organizations in the Caribbean Islands to conserve our biodiversity, promote nature-based solutions, and advance people’s well-being. We serve as a bridge between IUCN members, Commissions, and the Secretariat, facilitating communication and collaboration so that the region’s priorities are heard in global decision-making forums.

• To facilitate a channel for communication and collaboration among members of the Caribbean Islands, the Commissions, and the IUCN Secretariat, in order to strengthen their participation in IUCN programs.

• To create a platform for members in the Caribbean to share and exchange experiences regarding their national and regional initiatives, beyond the formal IUCN programs.

• To serve as a forum where members from the Caribbean can discuss and consider collective actions in response to the conservation challenges facing our islands.

• Ensure that the perspectives and priorities of members from the Caribbean effectively contribute to the work of IUCN, including regional and global events, Council meetings, the General Assembly, the World Conservation Congress, and other international processes.

• Disseminate IUCN’s policy positions, publications, reports, and all relevant information to members in the Caribbean.
